Betty L. Nelson

Betty L. Nelson, 94, of Veedersburg, died 11:20 am Friday March 4, 2011 at the Waters of Covington. She was born August 31, 1916 in Veedersburg the daughter of Ralph and Mabel (Fishero) Nelson. Her parents and a sister Helen Keeling have preceded her in death. Betty graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1934. She was employed at Kraft Foods in Indianapolis for 41 years. During this time she traveled by bus from Veedersburg to Indianapolis, living in Indianapolis during the week and returning home for the weekends. She was an accomplished photographer and developed her own pictures for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Veedersburg, and had previously been very active in teaching the children’s Sunday school, and volunteering in the nursery. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Monday March 7, 2011 at Dickerson Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Hunter officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am Monday at the funeral home and continue until the time of service. Interment at Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to First Christian Church in Veedersburg.
