Lela B. Froedge

Lela B. Froedge, 82, of Veedersburg, died 4:25 pm Friday March 4, 2011 at St Elizabeth Seton Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. She was born November 27, 1928 in Kingman, Indiana the daughter of Clarence and Minnie (Payton) Dark. She married Davis A. “Pete” Froedge August 6, 1950 in Montezuma, Indiana. Surviving family include her husband Davis A. “Pete” Froedge, Veedersburg; four sons, Michael (Virginia) Froedge, Crawfordsville; Tom Froedge, Veedersburg; John (Cindy) Froedge, Veedersburg; Todd Froedge, Crawfordsville; two daughters, Lea Ann (Tom) Lawler, Crawfordsville; Jan (Terry) Shields, Veedersburg; sister, Marylea Grimes, Crawfordsville; special niece, Jeane Dickerson, Crawfordsville; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a brother, four sisters, and a great-grandson Killian Shields. Lela graduated from Kingman High School in 1946. She was employed at Payton’s Grocery for 26 years, retiring from there in 1991. She attended New Century Church. Graveside service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday March 8, 2011 at Bonebrake Cemetery near Veedersburg with Pastor Dave Sims officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Killian Scott Shields Memorial Fund at 1st Financial Bank in Rockville, IN. Arrangements entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg.
