Dr. Shirley Kenneth Neeley

Shirley Kenneth Neeley DMD, 90, of Eustis Florida and formerly of Veedersburg, IN, passed away at his daughter’s residence in Eustis Florida April 24, 2012. Dr. Neeley was born February 9, 1922 in Chesterton, Indiana the son of Shirley W. and Fannie Marie (Rosborugh) Neeley. He married Phyllis B Minard October 25, 1946 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She has preceded him in death, he is also preceded in death by a son Kenneth Robert Neeley. Dr. Neeley graduated from Chesterton High School, completed undergraduate studies at Valparaiso University, and graduated from University of Louisville with a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry. He also served his country in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Carson near Colorado Springs. He operated his Dental office in Veedersburg for 58 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the F & A M Lodge #491, former member of American Legion Post #288, all in Veedersburg. Life Member of the American Dental Society, Ben Hur Dental Society and the Supreme Chapter Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity. Surviving family include a daughter Priscilla (husband Taylor) Johnson, Eustis, Florida. And many beloved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday May 11 at Dickerson Funeral Home, 303 North Main Street, Veedersburg, IN 47987 (765) 294 2000, with Masonic Service beginning at 6:45 pm. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday May 12, 2012, officiated by Rev. L. Fitzgerald Reist at the United Methodist Church 108 East 3rd St. Veedersburg IN. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Saturday at the church and continue until the time of service. Interment will follow service at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg with military honors provided by American Legion Post #288.
