Terry L Merrill Sr.

Terry L Merrill Sr, 62, of Veedersburg, passed away unexpectedly during his sleep at his residence Tuesday January 29, 2013. He was born September 24, 1950 in Crawfordsville, IN the son of Fredrick Merrill Sr. and Carol J (Blunk) Merrill. He married Sylvia McClure March 7, 1972 in Veedersburg. Surviving family include his wife Sylvia Merrill, Veedersburg; his mother, Carol Merrill, Veedersburg; a daughter, Catherine (husband, Eduardo) Herrera, Veedersburg; a son, Terry (wife, Leslie) Merrill Jr. Veedersburg; a brother, Arthur (wife, Kelly) Merrill, Florida; a sister, Luann Merrill, Ft. Wayne, IN; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick Merrill Sr.; two brothers, Fredrick Merrill Jr. and Timothy Merrill. Terry graduated from Fountain Central High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He had been employed at Alcoa in Lafayette for 20 years, and was employed recently at Masterguard in Veedersburg for the past ten years. He was a member of the VFW in Covington. His hobbies included hunting & fishing, socializing with his friends & family, and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Visitation will be 3:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday February 3, 2013 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday February 4, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Lyons officiating. Burial will follow at VA National Cemetery in Danville, IL with military honors provided by American Legion Post #288. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
