Evelyn A Krout

Evelyn A. Krout, 72, of Veedersburg, passed away 10:40pm Tuesday September 17, 2013 at The Waters of Covington. Evelyn was born March 6, 1941 in Danville, IL the daughter of Mack and Naomi Cunningham. She married Kenneth R. Krout November 21, 1959 in Veedersburg; he preceded her in death December 19, 2010. She is also preceded in death by a daughter Tami Lyons in 2008, and a sister, Brenda Smith. Surviving family include a daughter, Christy (Phil) DeSutter, Veedersburg; two sons, Kenneth W. (Penny) Krout, Veedersburg; Brad (Terri) Krout, Covington; nine grandchildren, Nikki Lyons, Michael Lyons, Megan (Gery) Munson, Melissa (Derek) Dismore, Justin (Katie) Krout, Katelyn (Chris) Laughland, Allyson Krout, Kenedie Krout, Lakyn Davis; and six great-grandchildren, Gracie Lyons, Kayden Lyons, Ledger Lyons, Linden Treynor, Audrey Munson, Zoey Krout. Evelyn graduated from Covington High School in 1959. She had been employed as a secretary throughout her life at the V A Hospital in Danville IL, Fountain County Med Shed, and Lewsader Insurance in Veedersburg. She was a member of the Sterling Christian Church, Red Hat Society, and The Order of Eastern Star. Evelyn enjoyed helping those in need and was active in Home Health Care. She loved getting together and spending time with her classmates, and enjoyed the trips to Florida with her friends. Her greatest pleasure in life came from her family, and she especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday September 21, 2013 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm Friday September 20, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow service at Rockfield Cemetery in Veedersburg.
