Lois Maxine Mycroft, 93, of Covington, passed away 7:45 pm Sunday December 1, 2013 at The Waters of Covington.
Mrs. Mycroft was born September 26, 1920 at home in rural Covington, IN the daughter of Theodore and Eva (Maffett) Grubb. She married Earl G. Mycroft March 22, 1937.
Her surviving family include four daughters, Loretta S. (Phil) Hughes, Covington; Bonnie C. Messick, Veedersburg; Nancy (Scott) Wallace, Covington; Joyce (Arnold “Boze”) Keeling, Veedersburg; a brother, Jack (Linda) Grubb, Covington; nine grandchildren, Bryan (Jeanette) Hughes, Montgomery, IN; Curt Hughes, Greenwood IN; Toni (Randy) Ponder, Veedersburg, Kelly (Eric) Keeling, Danville, IL; Robert (Lisa) Messick, Covington; Camilla (Dan) White, Trussville AL; Rodney (Jill) Wallace, Covington; Shelley (Tom) Snelling, Sullivan IL; Greg (Rita) Keeling, Veedersburg; 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 step great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl G. Mycroft, a sister Mary Jean Crain and a son in law Arnold Messick.
Lois had been employed in Covington at Norma’s Dress Shop, Sprague’s, and Covington Cleaners over the years. She always enjoyed life on the farm and spent much of her time cooking and sewing. She also enjoyed the winters she and her husband were able to spend in Florida. More than anything she loved and enjoyed her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Funeral service will be 1:00pm Wednesday December 4, 2013 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Duane Mycroft officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday and continue until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
