Mildred G Timmons

Mildred G. Timmons, 98,of Veedersburg passed away at her residence surrounded by her family and friends at 6:26 am Friday January 10, 2014. She was born December 14, 1915 in Parke County, to William and Edna McAllister Reed. Mildred was raised in the Covington area before moving to Veedersburg in 1939. Mildred graduated from Kingman High School in 1932. She owned and operated the Charm Beauty Shop in Veedersburg for 50 years. Mildred married Troy D. Timmons in January of 1949. He precedes her in death. Mildred is also survived by a son, Larry (Shirley) Strean, Veedersburg IN; One granddaughter, Denise (Jeff) Duncan, Veedersburg; Two great-granddaughters, Courtney (Don) Rogers, Jessica Dickson and a step-great-granddaughter, Amber (Michael) Pickett, all of Veedersburg, In. Four great-great-grandchildren, Ashley Rogers, Colin Rogers, Ethan, and Hayden Wigley, and a step-great-great grandson Austin Pickett also survive. She has a nephew Roger (wife Arnie) Reed who resides in Monticello, Indiana. Her brother Ralph Reed and a grandson Michael Hay precede her in death. Mildred was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Veedersburg. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday January 13, 2014 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Dave Sims officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon Monday and continue until the time of service Burial will be at Rockfield Cemetery.
