Elaine Myers Freed

Elaine Myers Freed, 62, of Yeddo, passed away 12:38 pm Sunday January 19, 2014 at St Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. She was born May 7, 1951 in Yeddo, Indiana the daughter of Harry J. and Elizabeth M (Dodds) Myers Sr. She was briefly married to Jesse David Freed. Surviving family include a daughter, Lisa (Rusty) Smith, Veedersburg; a brother, Harry J Myers Jr., Yeddo; two sisters, Patricia Hack, Covington; and Christine Brewer, Yeddo; a special friend, Dave Martin; 3 step grandchildren, Tina Swaim, Justin Smith, Zachary Smith; and 5 step great grandchildren. She also loved and cared for her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Malcolm Myers; two sisters, Eleanor Billings and Phyllis Irwin. Elaine graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1969. She had been employed for 30 years at the Kingman IGA , and more recently employed at County Market in Crawfordsville. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Lisa. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday January 22, 2014 at Centennial Cemetery near Kingman with Pastor Joe Dodds officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg.
