Leona P. Crumley

Leona P. Crumley 88, of rural Veedersburg, passed away peacefully at the Waters of Covington on Saturday, January 24, 2015. Born July 15, 1926, in Mellott, she was the daughter of the late Georgia M. (Nine) Crumley and Fred W. Crumley. Leona, “Auntie Onie” as her nieces and cousins referred to her, resided in the area her entire life. She enjoyed playing and winning at Chinese checkers, bingo, and card games with her family. She also enjoyed drawing, listening to music and dancing. She will be remembered as a caring aunt with a great sense of humor. Surviving family include a sister in law, Doris Crumley, Lafayette; three nieces, Arletta (Dave) Brown, Lafayette; Diana (Glenn) Knecht, Romney; Marvalene (Michael) Hunt, Florida; and a special cousin, Becky Nine Miller, Williamsport. Leona was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Crumley. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday January 31, 2015 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Joe Dodds officiating.
