Jean Coats

Jean (Stucker) Coats, of Veedersburg died 9:17 am December 1, 2008 at the Waters of Williamsport, IN. Mrs. Coats was born July 2, 1924 in Attica, IN the daughter of Finn and Inez (Mettee) Stucker. She married Conrad Dean Coats April 6, 1946 at the Methodist Church in Covington, Indiana. He preceded her in death July 6, 1968. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Ted Stucker and Frank Stucker, and a grandson Todd Livengood. Survivors include a daughter Barbara Dean Nelson, Rockville; sons, Brad Alan Coats, Attica; and Matthew Lee (Marty) Coats, Veedersburg; a sister Dorothy Rose Foster, Marion, Illinois; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jean was a member of the First Christian Church in Veedersburg. She graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1943. She was employed throughout her life as a dental hygienist at Dr. Neeley’s office in Veedersburg and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville, IL. She retired from the Veteran’s hospital in 1989. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday December 3, 2008 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Rick Williams officiating. Interment at Rockfield Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon and continue until time of service. The family request memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
