Stephen Paul Ellis

Veedersburg - Stephen Paul Ellis, 64, died 9:50 am Tuesday December 23, 2008 at his residence near Veedersburg, IN. Stephen was born May 6, 1944 in Danville, Illinois the son of Durward Ellis and Harriet (Norman) Matthews. They have preceded him in death. He is survived by a son Kyle J. Ellis, Kingman; stepdaughter Doris Patricia Aliaga, Indianapolis, IN; two sisters, Anita Sharon Ellis, Las Vegas, NM; and Martha (Ralph) Gates, Danville, IL; two brothers, Harry (Kristi) Matthews Jr. Folsom, CA; and Jeff (Becky) Ellis, Kingman; and a special niece Stephanie Pauline Richardson, Lehi, UT. Mr. Ellis graduated from Kingman High School in 1962, attended Indiana University, San Jose State, and trained as a corpsman in the US Navy. He served his country as corpsman in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He had been employed as a machinist for Westinghouse in California and Masterguard in Veedersburg. A celebration of Stephen’s life with inurnment will be held 11:00 am Saturday May 16, 2009 at Centennial Cemetery south of Veedersburg with Chaplin Zachary Rainey officiating. Military Honors will be included. Following the service family and friends will gather in Stephen’s memory at his Coal Creek Cellars Winery 3573 West Highway 136 Crawfordsville, IN.
