Nora May Fletcher, 73, of Veedersburg, died 12:40 am Wednesday December 24, 2008 at St Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Fletcher was born August 11, 1935 in Veedersburg the daughter of Gilbert and Audrey Louise (Mears) Robbins. She was blessed in life with five children.
Surviving are two sons, Paul Keeling, Veedersburg; Gary Fletcher (fiancé Julie Griffin) Veedersburg; two daughters Karen (Larry) Allen, Veedersburg; Sharon (David) Briggs, Kempner, TX; three brothers, Lloyd Robbins, Covington; Joe Robbins, Kentucky; Jack Robbins, Florida; two sisters Marjorie Sally Logsdon, Veedersburg; and Mary Lou Speigle, Leesburg, FL; ten grandchildren, Rick Keeling, Veedersburg; James (Elizabeth) Keeling, Kingman; Jeremy (Amy) Allen, Crawfordsville; Misty Blankenship (companion, Justin Smith) Covington; Stephanie Dore, Coppers Cove, TX; Danevia (Richard Smith) Briggs, Coppers Cove, TX; David (Stephanie) Briggs, Coppers Cove, TX; Thomas Clint Spear, Veedersburg; Kody Griffin, Veedersburg; Kameron Griffin, Veedersburg; ten great-grandchildren; and two former daughters in law Jacquelyn Powell and Mim Keeling.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son David E. Spear, sister Patricia McKinney, and brother Earl Robbins.
Nora owned and operated the Cardinal Café for 14 years in Veedersburg, managed Highland Court Restaurant for 7 years, was employed at Groce’s Restaurant in Sterling and G.E. in Danville, IL. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post in Covington. She loved and appreciated her family and many friends. She also enjoyed dancing, music, gardening, and canning.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday December 30, 2008 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating.
