Mark Eugene Mitchell

Mark Eugene Mitchell, 53, of Veedersburg, passed away 11:10 AM Sunday November 1, 2015 at Wellbrooke in Crawfordsville with his family at his side. Mark was born April 21, 1962 in Danville IL the son of Layman W. and Leafa L. (Abernathy) Mitchell. He married Kelly Lea Lightle May 7, 1983 at Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg. He is preceded in death by his father. Surviving family include his wife, Kelly L. Mitchell, Veedersburg; two sons, Andrew Eugene Mitchell, Attica; Trent Allen Mitchell, Veedersburg; his mother, Leafa Mitchell, Danville IL; a sister, Lou Ann (Tom) Gibson, Danville IL; a sister-in-law, Karen (James) Robertson, Brownsburg; nieces, Amanda (Chad) Edgington, Kelsey Robertson; nephew Justin Robertson; one great-niece, Olivia Edgington. Mark graduated from Covington High School in 1980. He was employed in the Machine Shop at Harrison Steel in Attica for 21 years. He has been employed as a sales representative for DCT Industrial Supply since 2005. Mark enjoyed his muscle cars, old rock n’ roll music, antiquing, garage sales, car shows, and swap meets. He always looked forward to the National Drag Race in Clermont, and hosting his cookouts for DCT in the snake pit on carb. day at the Indy 500. Mark loved and enjoyed the many friends he had made throughout his life, and more than anything he loved and enjoyed his family. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM (EST) Friday November 6, 2015 at Sterling Christian Church 701 South Sterling Ave. Veedersburg IN, with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM (EST) Thursday November 5, 2015 at Sterling Christian Church. Burial will follow service at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
