Ora LeRoy "Rusty" Krout

Ora LeRoy “Rusty” Krout, 75, of Veedersburg, passed away at his residence Tuesday January 5, 2016. Rusty was born May 3, 1940 in Veedersburg the son of Ora Woodrow and Emma Gertrude (Parkinson) Krout. He married Penny Ann Pearson December 20, 1959 at the Gravelly Run Quaker Church in Darlington, Indiana. Surviving family include his wife, Penny Ann Krout, Veedersburg; three sons, Jeffrey LeRoy Krout, Wingate; Kevin Jon Krout, Lafayette; Timothy Brian (Katie) Krout, Lafayette; two daughters, Melissa Ann (David) Henry, Westville; Kelly Renee Kirby, Veedersburg; a sister, Zedith L. (Guy) Corey, Kingman; an uncle, Keith (Helen) Krout, Veedersburg; two aunts, Harriet Schwenn, Veedersburg; Judy Dodson, Attica; eleven grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Andrew Krout. Rusty graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1959. During his life he had farmed and operated many different businesses around the area. He was an avid Purdue and Chicago Cub fan, and enjoyed his many fishing trips to Canada and hunting trips to Michigan. He also enjoyed having his morning coffee at the Apple Tree and The Daily Bread restaurants. Funeral service will be 4:00 PM (EST) Sunday January 10, 2016 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Phil Jackson officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Sunday and continue until the time of service.
