Penny Ann Krout

Penny Ann (Pearson) Krout, 73, of Veedersburg, passed away 3:50 PM Monday January 18, 2016 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville IL. Penny was born March 14, 1942 in Crawfordsville, IN the daughter of Cecil William & Hazel Omega (Helms) Pearson. She married Ora Le Roy “Rusty” Krout December 20, 1959 at Gravelly Run Quaker Church in Darlington, IN. Rusty preceded her in death January 5, 2016. She is also preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Krout. Surviving family include three sons, Jeffrey LeRoy Krout, Wingate; Kevin Jon Krout, Lafayette; Timothy Brian (Katie) Krout, Lafayette; two daughters, Melissa Ann (David) Henry, Westville, IL; Kelly Renee Kirby, Veedersburg; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a very close cousin Louise Williams, Dunnellon, FL. Penny graduated from Darlington High School in 1959. She was employed as secretary at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center for 33 years before her retirement. She enjoyed having coffee at the Apple Tree restaurant, attending the covered bridge festival, cooking, sewing, tending to her flower gardens, mushrooming, and watching the deer. She loved the many “Cubby” Black Labs they had over the years, she cherished her many friends from the time she had worked at the hospital, more than anything she loved and enjoyed her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. Funeral service will be 4:00 pm (EST) Sunday January 24, 2016 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Phil Jackson officiating.
