Larry M. McMahan

Larry M. McMahan, 75, of Veedersburg, passed away 7:50 AM Wednesday May 4, 2016 at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born July 17, 1940 in Cates, IN the son of Ivan Villard and Dorothy Lucille (Crowder) McMahan. He married Freda M. Lee June 30, 1961 in Lodi, Indiana. Surviving family include his wife, Freda M. McMahan, Veedersburg; two daughters, Tammy (David) Houmes, Veedersburg; Sherry (Chris) Cox, Veedersburg; a son Scott (Rachel) McMahan, Stone Bluff, IN; a sister, Beulah (William) White, Darlington, IN; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a brother, Daniel McMahan; a sister, Stella Coleman; and a half-sister, Claudine Reatherford. Larry graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1959. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Covington IN. Throughout his life he had been employed at area factories including Harrison Steel, Olin, Tee Pak, and General Motors. He enjoyed collecting guns and coins. Most of all he loved and enjoyed his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday May 7, 2016 at Dickerson Funeral home in Veedersburg with Pastor Tom Hunter and Pastor Rich Stadler officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM Friday May 6, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will follow service at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
