Keith Owen Krout

Keith Owen Krout, 82, of Veedersburg, passed away Thursday August 25, 2016 at his residence with his family at his side. Keith was born June 21, 1934 in Veedersburg, IN the son of Ivan A and Nora M. (Stephens) Krout. He married his wife of 63 years Helen Louise Bowman December 2, 1952 in Crawfordsville, IN. Surviving family includes his wife Helen L. Krout, Veedersburg; two daughters, Debra (Homer) Faucett, Hillsboro; Cindy Urgo, Crawfordsville; a son Randy (Lavonda) Krout, Williams, IN; sister Judy Dotson, Attica, IN; six grandchildren, Travis (Heather) Krout, Todd (Jenny) Krout, Homer Faucett III, Andrea Faucett, Angie (Andy) Hoaks, Brent Richardson; six great-grandchildren, Kaiti Krout, Paitin Krout, Sami Jo Krout, Maddie Krout, Mackinze Hoaks, Kailee Richardson. He is preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Marguerite, Recca, Betty, Mildred, and seven brothers, Ora, Gerald, Kenneth, Lyle, Dale, Clarence & Ernest. Keith attended Veedersburg School; his employment began as a young man bailing hay with the family, he was employed at the Veedersburg Brick Yard for 18 ½ years, and employed at General Motors Danville, IL for 17 ½ years before retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Marshall Federated Church. Keith was an avid sports fan; he especially loved IU Basketball, he enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts, and any sporting event where his grandchildren were participating. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and was part of the Hubnuts Camping Group from years past in Veedersburg. Funeral service is 3:00 PM Sunday August 28, 2016 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Don Perry officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Sunday and continue until the time of service. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Fountain Central Mustang Club.
