Katherine Ann Byers

Katherine Ann Byers, 71, of Veedersburg, passed away 8:23 AM Saturday April 1, 2017 at Parkview Healthcare in Attica, Indiana. Kathy was born March 4, 1946 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of Theodore and Doris L. (Jones) Kingery. She married Stephen David Byers and he has preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Stefeny Smith. Surviving family include a son, David Byers (fiancé Dawn Himes) Lafayette; two brothers, Jim (Sandy) Kingery, Veedersburg; Teddy (Rita) Kingery, Rileysburg, IN; a sister, Laura (Ed) Campodonico, Pittsburg, CA; son-in-law, Matt (Angela) Smith, Newtown; six grandchildren, Kayla, Kyle, Klint, Luke, Noah, Kirsten; two great-grandchildren, Steven, Alivia; and a special cousin who was like a sister, Joyce Sichts. Kathy graduated from Danville High School. She had recently retired after 30 years of employment as assistant manager at Valley View Heights in Danville, IL. She was an active member and involved supporter of Sterling Christian Church. She enjoyed her many dogs, knitting, going out to eat with her friends, serving at the church, and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday April 5, 2017 at Sterling Christian Church 701 South Sterling Avenue Veedersburg IN with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday April 4, 2017 at the church. Burial will follow service at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
