Larry DeWayne Pool Sr.

Larry DeWayne Pool Sr., 80, of Veedersburg, passed away 1:45 PM Wednesday April 19, 2017 at Parkview Heath Care in Attica, Indiana. He was born July 31, 1936 in Danville IL the son of Homer Floyd “Pete” and Bernice Elizabeth (Monroe) Pool. He married Margaret J. McHardy July 31, 1965 in Veedersburg; she has preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Pool. Surviving family include two sons, Sean Pool, Crawfordsville IN; L.D. (Tehanee) Pool, Bloomington, IN; a daughter, Julia (Allen) Denhart, Lafayette IN; nine grandchildren, Chase Pool, Tanner Pool, Marissa (Lee) McMurtry, Vince Pool, Maya Pool, Ravi Pool, Colin Denhart, Emily Denhart, Avery Denhart, and four great-grandchildren. Larry graduated in 1955 from Winter Haven High School in Florida. He attended Florida State University and graduated from Indiana State University in 1972. He served his country in the U.S. Army, being stationed at Fort Bragg N.C. He was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Covington, and the American Legion Post #288 in Veedersburg. He enjoyed golfing in his free time; and his greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday April 22, 2017 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM Saturday and continue until the time of service at 2:00 PM.
