Stefeny Ann Smith

Stefeny Ann (Byers) Smith, 36, of Newtown, died unexpectedly 8:45 pm Friday October 2, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born August 17, 1973 in Danville, IL. the daughter of Stephen David and Katherine A. (Kingery) Byers. She married Matt Smith September 13, 1991 in Covington, IN. Survivors include her mother Katherine Byers, Veedersburg; husband Matt Smith, Newtown; step-daughter Kirsten Michelle Smith, Veedersburg; brother, David S. Byers (wife Patty) Kingman. She is preceded in death by her father, Stephen David Byers and her father-in-law Bill Smith, both of whom she loved dearly. Stefeny was a member of the Sterling Christian Church. She graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1991, and then obtained a degree from Ivy Tech as a legal secretary. She was an avid fan of Fountain Central football, and the Indianapolis Colts. Stefeny enjoyed crafts, cooking, and she was a very talented artist. She loved animals and leaves behind some of her favorite pets, Nigel, Lola, and Izzy. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday October 6, 2009 at Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Interment at Cold Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm Monday October 5, 2009 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg.
