Betty Lou Barker

Betty Lou Barker, 79, of Veedersburg passed away 2:34PM Friday August 25, 2017 at Wellbrooke Health and Wellness Center in Crawfordsville with her family at her side. Betty was born October 10, 1937 in Veedersburg, IN the daughter of Lloyd R. and Lillian A. (Booe) Furr. She married Bobby G. Barker October 21, 1955 in Veedersburg, IN. Surviving family include her husband, Bobby G. Barker, Veedersburg; a daughter, Katrina (Tom) Bowling, Crawfordsville; a son, Randy (Beth) Barker, Veedersburg; a brother, Don (Claudia) Furr, Veedersburg; three grandchildren, Chera Bowling, Marlana (Keith) Spencer, Darin (Ashley) Bowling; six great-grandchildren, Lexie Allen, Jake Bowling, Will Harmon, Brady & Delaney Spencer, and Gavin Bowling. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bob Furr and Wayne Furr. Betty graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1955, where she participated as a high school cheerleader. Through the years she had been employed at the Bus Station, Grab-it-Here, Star Market, Subway, and Sale Barn, all in Veedersburg. Throughout her life she had attended church and her faith in God was an important part of her life. She enjoyed baking cakes and watching afternoon soap operas. Private family services were held at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Burial followed the service at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
