Roy E. Kruger

Roy E. Kruger, 89, formerly of Veedersburg and Champaign, IL, died 10:35 pm Monday January 4, 2010 at Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica, IN. He was born May 24, 1920 in Sidney, IL the son of Edward F. and Lillian Marie (Heidrich) Kruger. He married Mary I. Patterson Aug. 10, 1943 in High Wickomb, England, she preceded him in death January 18, 2006. Surviving family includes two daughters, Janice (William) Beasley, Walsh, IL; Jill (Michael) Murphy, Mancos, CO; two brothers, Ralph (Dorothy) Kruger, and Lyle (Betty) Kruger, both of Veedersburg; two grandchildren, Travis (Dawn) Beasley and Victoria (Steve) Zerillo, two great-grandsons, William & Dillon Beasley. Roy graduated from Sidell High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He lived in Champaign, IL for many years where he worked as an auto-body repairman and raised his family. There will be no service per Mr. Kruger’s request. Burial will be at Bonebrake Cemetery, Veedersburg. Arrangements entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home.
