Delbert Odell McManomy

Delbert O. McManomy, 93, of Wingate , died 9:47 PM Tuesday May 4, 2010 at St. Clare Hospital in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was born December 29, 1916 in Duncan, Oklahoma the son of Earl V. and Audrey (Adkins) McManomy. He married Dorothy Warrick July 27, 1945 in Veedersburg, she has preceded him in death. Surviving family include a daughter, Debra L. McKinney, Wingate; son, Dennis McManomy, Hillsboro; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Steele, Michigan City; Oletta Furr, Hillsboro; brothers, Harold McManomy, Michigan City; Leon McManomy, Crawfordsville; Odis McManomy, Wallace; and Norman Mcmanomy He was a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army and a five year veteran of WWII. He also served three years in the Army Reserves. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion Post #72 in Crawfordsville. He was a retired cement mason and a 50 year member of the Cement Mason Union. Graveside services were held at Rockfield Cemetery in Veedersburg with military honors provided by American Legion Post #288. Services entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home.
