Larry L. Ward

Larry L. “Shiny Legs” Ward, 69, of Veedersburg, passed away at his residence 4:05 am Monday August 30, 2010. He was born November 14, 1940 in Linsburg, IN the son of Wallace & Hazel (Vanice) Ward. He was raised by Gordon “Bud” (deceased) and Rosemarie “Pooch” Holloway. Larry married Kay Tubbs October 19, 1963. Surviving family includes wife, Kay Ward, Veedersburg; daughter, Kimberly Ward, Veedersburg; son Mark Ward, Veedersburg; three grandchildren Haley Renee Ward, Gabe Alan Ward, and Elijah James Switzer; five sisters, Rosemarie “Pooch” Holloway, Crawfordsville; Beverly (George) High, Crawfordsville; Donnie (Meredith) Keffer, Crawfordsville; Betty Wilson, Iowa; Dean Setzer, Danville, IN; and sister-in-laws, Pat Ward, Vi Ward, and Ruth Moore all of Crawfordsville. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Jack, Phil, Harry Jr. and Don; grandson, Mark Anthoney Ward, and one sister Mary Jo Smith. Larry graduated from Coal Creek High School at Wingate in 1959, where he ran track and played basketball. He enjoyed his grandchildren, Nascar and was a true I.U. fan. He also enjoyed the farm harvest season and driving for Matt and Larry Martin. Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Saturday September 4, 2010 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating.
