Jarrell Dean “Click” Florey, age 81 of Williamsport, formerly of Veedersburg, IN died at 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at his residence. Jarrell was born on May 15, 1929 in Danville, IL. He was the son of Clifford and Mildred (Linker) Florey. He was a 1948 graduate of Veedersburg High School. He married Martha “Bart” LaBaw in 1953 and they later divorced. He married Barbara Shamp Stingle in 1980 and she survives. Jarrell served in the Army in the Adjutant General’s office in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Olin in Covington and was a self-employed painter. Jarrell was an avid sports fan, especially Indiana University men’s basketball, St. Louis Cardinals, and Purdue women’s basketball. Surviving with his wife, Barbara, are 3 children, Ronald Florey (wife: JoAnn) of Westerville, OH; Keith Stingle (wife: Sheila) of West Lafayette; and Michelle Oaks of Veedersburg; brother-in-law, Marlon Brown of Veedersburg; 7 grandchildren, Amber Florey, Ashlee Florey (Adam), R.G. Florey, Brooke Stingle, Tiffany Stingle, Kolleen Horton (Mark), and Evan Oaks (Sarah); and 3 great-granddaughters, Kayidence Horton, Kelcee Oaks, and Addison Urban. Jarrell was preceded in death by 2 sons, Roger Florey and Kelly Stingle and 2 sisters, Marjorie Wilson and Janet Brown. Visitation will be at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg from 5:00 until service time at 8:00 p.m on Thursday, September 23, 2010. Steve Jones will be officiating. Inurnment will be at Rockfield Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
