Diana J. Bilstad, 58, of Veedersburg, passed away 7:00 am Wednesday October 6, 2010 at her residence following a battle with cancer. She was born October 15, 1951 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of Raymond R. and Ella Marie (Blacketer) Dobbs. She married John Bilstad November 1, 1969 at the Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg. Surviving family includes her husband John Bilstad, Veedersburg; two brothers, Alan Dobbs, Covington; and Steve Dobbs, Attica; a special niece that had been like a daughter, Kim Lighty, and Kim’s daughter, Hope Lighty; a niece Heather Johnson, and several other nieces and nephews; special friends that had been a tremendous help during her illness, Evelyn Krout, Judy Dodson, and Gloria McElwee. She will also be missed by her cat “Boo”. She is preceded in death by her parents, and by her father and mother in law. Diana graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1969. She was a member of the Sterling Christian Church. She was employed as manager of the Food Basket in Veedersburg, and had worked there for over thirty years. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers; traveling, especially the many trips to Hawaii. She loved people, loved to work and placed great value on working hard at the task at hand. Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Friday October 8, 2010 at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm on Friday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or Southeast Fountain Community Foundation.
