Kenneth R. Krout, 70, of Veedersburg, passed away at his residence during the early morning of Sunday December 19, 2010. He was born January 5, 1940 in Veedersburg the son of Kenneth E. and Alberta R. (Sigler) Krout, and was raised by his mother and step-father Raymond Richey after his father died in WWII. He married Evelyn A. Cunningham November 21, 1959, in Veedersburg. Surviving family include his wife Evelyn A. Krout, Veedersburg; daughter, Christy (Phil) DeSutter, Veedersburg; two sons, Kenneth W. (Penny) Krout, Veedersburg; and Brad (Terri) Krout, Covington; two sisters, Patty (Marvin) Lewis, Veedersburg; and Sharon (Buck) Allen, Veedersburg; two brothers, Don (Debbie) Richey, Veedersburg; and Bob (Jeanie) Richey, Franklin, IN; nine grandchildren, Nikki Lyons, Michael Lyons, Megan (Gery) Munson, Melissa DeSutter (fiancé, Derek Dismore), Justin Krout, Katie Krout, Allyson Krout, Kenedie Krout, Lakyn Davis, four great-grandchildren, Gracie Lyons, Kayden Lyons, Ledger Lyons, and Linden Treynor. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-dad Raymond Richey, and a daughter Tami Lyons in 2008. Kenneth graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1959 and was a member of the Sterling Christian Church. He was employed at Olin Mathieson / Flexel for thirty nine years, retiring in June, 1997. He loved sports which included I.U. Basketball, St. Louis Cardinals, and coaching Veedersburg Little League for 20 years. He enjoyed his backyard birdfeeders, and attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events over the years. Most of all he loved and enjoyed his family and especially his grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday December 22, 2010 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday December 21, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment at Rockfield Cemetery.
