Betty Jean Kruger

Betty Jean Kruger, 86, of Veedersburg, passed away 2:32 PM Sunday September 13, 2020 at Autumn Trace in Attica, Indiana.

Betty was born May 11, 1934 in Covington, IN the daughter of Lester and Dorothy Edna (Eller) Hayman. She married Lyle Wayne Kruger January 22, 1955 in Veedersburg, IN; he preceded her in death November 24, 2012.

She is also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Allen.

Surviving family include two daughters, Dawn Kruger (Jim Jenkins) Heathrow, FL; Lynn (Scott) Kesner, Covington, IN; a brother, Wayne (Pauline) Hayman, Covington, IN; and a granddaughter, Savanah Abernathy.

Betty graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1952. Earlier in her life she was employed at RMC in Attica; and more recently she had been employed as janitor for the Covington and Veedersburg Post Office. She attended First Christian Church in Veedersburg; she was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, originally of Troy Chapter #145 and most recently West Lebanon Chapter #162. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Cayuga, IN.

Betty had enjoyed traveling with her husband Lyle, and they both enjoyed and appreciated antique cars. She loved animals of all kinds; but most of all she loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Wednesday September 16, 2020 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Garland Pannell officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday and continue until The Order of the Eastern Star service at 12:45PM. Burial will be at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington.
