Bonnie Marie Deardorff

Bonnie Marie Deardorff, 68, passed away peacefully at OSF St. Joseph Hospital, Bloomington, IL at 3:56 p.m. on April 15, 2022 surrounded by her family.

Bonnie was born on January 21, 1954 in Danville, IL. She was the daughter of the late Richard M. and Theresa J. (Slaski) Deardorff of Veedersburg, IN.

She was a 1972 graduate of Fountain Central H.S. and had resided in Veedersburg, IN and Danville, IL. She had been a resident at the Waters of Covington for the last three years.

Following graduation, she attended Danville Jr. College and graduated in 1974 with a degree in nursing. She was a pediatric and cardiac LPN for over 35 years at the former St. Elizabeth Hospital, which later became United Samaritans Medical Center. She also worked weekends as a nurse at the Waters of Covington for several years.

Bonnie was an active member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington, IN and had served in several areas over the last 45 years. She was honored to serve as the staff nurse during their Summer Fun VBS. She loved her church family as well as her large circle of medical friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Theresa Deardorff. She leaves behind her sister, Karen (Chuck) Cochran of Ooltewah, TN and her brother, Rick (Michele) Deardorff of Attica, IN. She had three nieces, Brittany Cochran of Ooltewah, Ashlee (Adam) McHone of Hillsboro, Rachel Deardorff of Attica and one nephew, Rick (Mercedes) Deardorff II of Attica.

Her hobbies included cake decorating, photography, travelling, collecting Thomas Kincaid artwork, and listening to gospel music. She also enjoyed attending concerts of the Triumphant Quartet, David Copperfield shows, and Covered Bridge Festivals. 

Friends may call at the Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18^th. Services will be held at Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington on Tuesday, April 19^th with service time at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Rockfield Cemetery in Veedersburg.
