Christy Ann Reed

Christy Ann Reed, 72, of rural Covington IN; passed away peacefully at her home 12:22 PM Saturday October 7, 2023 with her husband Sam at her side.

Christy was born April 18, 1951 at the home of her parents David E. and Margaret Ann (Whitaker) Richey in rural Covington, Indiana. She married Samuel Lee Reed August 22, 1981 in Perrysville, Indiana.

Surviving family include her husband Sam Reed, Covington; Daughter Lisa Crews Henk, son in law Neal Henk of West Lebanon in 

Granddaughters McKenzie Blair (Henk) married to Joshua Blair and their children Galileo and Aíne: all live in Waynetown In; Granddaughter Mariah Henk,  West Lebanon IN  

Christy graduated from Covington High School in 1969, where she participated in 4H and she was an active member of the Future Homemakers of America. She also attended Danville Area Community College. Early in her life she had been employed at Mike’s Colonial Parkway and she was a proud owner of a 1957 Chevy Hardtop.

Christy had a love for crocheting and creating blankets for her family. There was not a craft that she could not make. She cherished her family deeply, and loved spending time with her daughter, Granddaughters, and great grandchildren. 

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Friday October 13, 2023 at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington, IN; officiated by Pastor Tom Hunter. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
