It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Eduardo (Lalo) Herrera Valdez, aged 47, on Thursday June 18th, 2026, at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Vera Cruz, Mexico on August 5, 1979, to Jose Manuel Herrara and Sofia Rivera Valdez.

Eduardo was a hard-working man who always sought to provide the best for his family. He enjoyed cooking and trying new things. In his free time, he loved to make memories with his friends and family

He is survived by his wife Catherine Herrera, daughter Elena Merrill, son Edwyn Herrera of Veedersburg, and his sister Osidy Herrera of Vera Cruz.

A visitation will be held at Dickerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 between the hours of 11 am and 1 pm.
