Frederick Joe “Fred” Bentley, 75, of Veedersburg IN, passed away 10:56 AM Wednesday October 14, 2020 at Franciscan St Elizabeth Health in Lafayette, Indiana.

Fred was born October 6, 1945 in Veedersburg the son of William and Margaret (Stonebraker) Bentley. Fred was first married to Marilyn K. Smith; and they were blessed with two sons, Jeffrey and Gregery. His second marriage was to Mary Bowman  February 14, 1998.

Surviving family include his wife, Mary Bentley, Veedersburg; two sons, Jeffrey Scott Bentley, Veedersburg; Gregery Joe (Tanya) Bentley, Veedersburg; a step-daughter, Suzanne K. Heaton, Danville, IL; a brother James “Tucker” (Peggy) Bentley, Veedersburg; five grandchildren, Heather Roman, Lauren Bentley, Alyssa Heaton, Chelsea Bentley, Austin Bentley; and four great-grandchildren.

Fred graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1963. He was employed for many years at Tee Pak in Danville Illinois; retiring from there after 40 years. He was an avid golfer; for many years he was on the Harrison Park golf course daily in Danville, always walking the entire course up until he reached 70 years of age. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his two sons. He will be remembered for his ever present smile, his willingness to “Go along” no matter where you were going, and his constant willingness to help others. Above anything else he loved and enjoyed his family.

Per Fred’s request there will be no public services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome
