Gerald Snelling

Gerald (Jerry) L. Snelling, 90, of Veedersburg, died peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025, and has joined the Lord in eternal life.

Jerry was born in Danville, IL, on February 11, 1935, to Paul and Violet (Clevidence) Snelling.

He attended school in Attica and graduated from Richland Township School in 1953.

He married Barbara Burgner on August 30, 1958, and they enjoyed 66 years together.

He served in the Indiana National Guard and farmed in the Veedersburg/Stone Bluff area.

Jerry ‘s favorite pastimes included studying the Bible, building muzzleloaders, flying RC Model Planes and watching old movies.

Jerry is survived by his wife Barbara (Burgner) Snelling; his children Karen (Jim) Derr, Tom (Shelley) Snelling, Tim (Janette) Snelling, Scott (Holly) Snelling; grandchildren Kristin (Sean) Dixon, Josh (Lori) Snelling, Amy (Jared) Spaid, Dean (Jackie) Snelling, Dylan Snelling, Jolee Snelling and Eli Snelling; great-grandchildren June and Marshall Dixon, Kaitlynn Snelling, Keeley and Wyatt Spaid, Hank and Lainey Snelling; and 3 nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Violet; his sister Nancy Humble; and nephew David Humble.
