Obituary

Jack D. Linker, 93, of Veedersburg, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, in Lafayette, Indiana.

Born on August 27, 1932, in Veedersburg, Jack was the son of Paul and Marie (Trinkle) Linker. He married the love of his life, Glenda E. Miller, on May 19, 1962, in Veedersburg, and together they built a life centered on family and hard work.

He grew up in Veedersburg and went to the Veedersburg High School, where he played basketball, and other sports. Following high school, Jack proudly served his country in the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War. After returning home, he began his career at the Veedersburg Brickyard, where he worked until its closing. He later continued his career at C&D Batteries, where he remained until his retirement.

Jack found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid fan of sports and enjoyed watching classic television, especially Gunsmoke and other westerns. He loved reading, listening to old country music, and spending time with his family, particularly playing board games with his grandchildren. The outdoors was one of his favorite places to be, whether he was hunting, fishing, or camping.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Brad Linker of Waynetown, Indiana; Brian Linker of Kingman, Indiana; and Dan (Rujeanette) Linker of Elk Grove, California. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Eden, Skylar, Ariel, Garrett, Alexa, and Zachary, and two great-grandchildren, Blair and Savannah.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; Paul and Marie, his beloved wife, Glenda; his brothers, Dale and Gary; and his daughter-in-law, Miesha Linker.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (EST) at the Dickerson Funeral Home, in Veedersburg.
