Jakob Aaron Mortimore

Jakob Aaron Mortimore, age 30 of Attica, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023. He was born in Lafayette, IN on April 27, 1993 to the late Wendy (Smith) Mortimore and Kris Mortimore. Jakob graduated in 2012 from Fountain Central High School. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, doing anything to lend a helping hand, and most importantly being a dad to his children. He was currently employed at Subaru in Lafayette. Surviving are his father, Kris Mortimore; two brothers, Joshua “Blake” (Sarah) Mortimore and Trey (Julia Harshbarger) Mortimore; children, Mariah Mortimore, Owen Mortimore, Bentley Gregory, Kenley Gregory, Kinlee Ingram, and Karter Stimac; niece, Eva Mortimore; Mothers to his children, Whitney Ingram and Jasmine Lusch; Grandparents, Shirley (Edgar) Smith, Jerry Mortimore, Joyce (Simonton) Mortimore; Aunts, Mindy (Smith) Ferguson, Deann Mortimore; Uncles, Jerry Mortimore, William Von “Bill” Mortimore; many cousins; and many best friends whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Wendy; his uncle Jerry “Jake” Cowan, who he looked up to and was very special to him; uncles, Joe Smith, Steven Smith, and David Smith; Grandparents, Joe Smith & Shirley (Cowan) Smith-Bahls. Jake was a great friend and an even greater father. He loved the lord and was a God-fearing man. He fought a hard fight most of his life and is finally at peace. He will be greatly missed by his family, lifelong friends, and his children. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made at any Fountain Trust banking center, “for the benefit of Jakob Mortimore.” Visitation will be held at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg on Saturday August 12, 2023 12:00-3:00 p.m. Funeral service will be there on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at 2 p.m. with Minister Dave Sims officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
