Joe Haas, 76, of Summerville, S.C., formerly of Veedersburg, Ind., passed away Aug. 4, 2018, at Trident Hospital in Charleston, S.C.
Joe was born Jan. 23, 1942, to Bennie and Winnie Haas. After graduation from Veedersburg High School, he served four years in the USAF. He retired from Commander Package in 2009.
He loved playing golf, gardening and working on genealogy, but his greatest joy was his family. Joe is survived by his wife Judith (Harper), and sons Joseph Alan (Sandy) of Allen, Texas, and Derek Scott (Gianna) of Noblesville, Ind.; also two granddaughters, Jessica (Elliott) Hoffman and Emily Haas of Texas; and two grandsons, Addison of Noblesville and Ryne of Bloomington, Ind.; two brothers, Eric (Belinda) of Summerville, S.C., Terry (Debby) of Tazwell, Tenn.; and a sister, Linda (Jim) Croft of Hillsboro, Ind.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack Richardson; sister, Patricia Bryant.
Graveside rites for family and friends will be at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 11 at Rockfield Cemetery in Veedersburg, IN. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Foundation.
