Lillie Louise Booe

Lillie Louise (Knowles) Booe passed away peacefully to be with Jesus, Friday, September 19, at Indianapolis where she lived with her daughter Janet, for five and a half years.

Lillie was born October 27, 1922 in Attica, IN.  She was the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Cline) Knowles.  She graduated from Veedersburg High School.  She had 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.  Lillie married Lawrence Booe on August 7, 1941 in Veedersburg, IN.

Lillie was a member of the Veedersburg United Methodist Church and was treasurer for over 50 years of the women's group, WSCS and United Methodist Women (UMW).  She worked at Rae Shook's Variety store in Veedersburg, cook at the Mustang Room.  Vincent Price told her she made marvelous pies.  She also did babysitting in her home for many children.  

She is survived by Janet (Tom) Moore, Indianapolis, Ruth Ann (Ray) Shoaf, Kingman, Dick (Rea) Booe, Campellsville, KY, and Mary (Steve) Cary, Lafayette.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; sister Marjorie; and brother, Albert.

In Lieu of Flowers and Plants memorial contributions may be made to the Veedersburg United Methodist Church or Lucille Raines Residence in Indianapolis.
