Mark Mitchell, 65, of Veedersburg, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Mark was born to Henry Jurgensen and Bert (Clem) Jurgensen on June 2, 1960, in Champaign, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Robin Meek; however they later divorced, but he spent the rest of his life with her as his best friend.
Mark was a talented handyman, who worked on many construction projects throughout the Danville, Illinois area, and helped several area residents with projects around their homes. Mark enjoyed learning about different types of weaponry, and had a vast amount of knowledge of weapons, and was eager to share his knowledge with anyone who raised a question. He also held a special place in his heart for animals and had several of his own throughout his life.
Survivors include his sister, Gail Byrket McAleer, nephew, Ben Byrket, niece, Bricey Manchin, and his favorite niece Blair Byrket. Mark is also survived by his life partner Robin Meek, his childhood friend John Huff, and his four-legged companions, Shadow, Pidbit, Cassie, Coco, Fancy and Spicee. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother William Mitchell.
