Mary Jo Foley

Mary Jo Foley, 80, of Veedersburg, passed away 10:30 PM Thursday October 27, 2022 at her residence with her family at her side.

Mary Jo was born March 11, 1942 in Lafayette, IN the daughter of Ray E. McCollum and Sarah A. (Bowers) Oilar. She married Elvin Samuel Foley Jr. October 28, 1960.

Surviving family include her husband, Sam Foley, Veedersburg; a son, Samuel Patrick Foley, Indianapolis; two daughters, Angela Rae Willoughby, Covington; Debra Jean (Doug) Keeling, Veedersburg; six grandchildren, Christopher Boone, Samantha (Matt) Wodecki, Mitchell (Tonya) Willoughby, Breanna (Adam) Klink, Alyssa (Ryan Peterson) Keeling, Douglas (Zoe) Keeling; five great grandchildren, Lucas Wodecki, Olivia Wodecki, LexiAnn Willoughby, Dakoda Willoughby, and Amelia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Margaret J. Gary, Bonnie Harvey, and a brother Fred R McCollum.

Mary Jo graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1960. She was employed for many years as a clerk at Baxter Drug Store, Hershberger Pharmacy in Veedersburg; CVS, and IGA in Covington. She also ran a daycare in her home for many years. She was an avid Euchre player, playing twice a week in area Euchre clubs; she also enjoyed bowling earlier in her life.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday November 1, 2022 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon Tuesday at the funeral home and continue until the time of service at 2:00. Burial will be at Osborn Prairie Cemetery near Veedersburg.
