Melissa M. Griffin

Melissa Michelle (Byers) Griffin, 52, of Veedersburg, IN, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, at her home. She was born on September 16, 1972, in Killeen, Texas, to Michael A. and Janice (Scott) Byers. She is survived by her parents, husband of 30+ years Scott Griffin and her children Trent Spear (Alyssa Hansen) of Veedersburg, IN, and Alex Griffin (Kolby George) of Indianapolis, IN. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, granddaughters: Hollis George, and Rhian and Eliza Spear, and grandsons, Huxley George and Bodhi Spear. She is also survived by one brother Jake Byers of Covington, IN, sister-in-law/dear friend Ann (Griffin) Abbott, and several nieces and nephews.

She was a 1990 graduate of Covington High School and the current Fountain County Assessor. She attended First Baptist Church. She loved being a Gigi more than anything in the whole world and loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She loved to cook for her family and friends and enjoyed her solitude watching wildlife on her back porch. She enjoyed going on family vacations and spending time with her family. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
