Norma Ruth Anderson

Norma Ruth Anderson, 89, of Kingman IN and formerly of Hammond IN, passed away Thursday morning September 19, 2019 at her granddaughter’s home (Lisa Mendoza) in Crown Point, IN. 

Norma was born June 8, 1930 in Robinson, Illinois the daughter of John and Rachel Elizabeth (Lowrance) Meek. She married Rex Eugene Anderson November 16, 1946 in Robinson, IL; he preceded her in death May 5, 2010. She is also preceded in death by a son, John Anderson.

Norma and Rex moved to Hammond IN in 1952, Norma was a homemaker and she raised their family in Hammond and lived there until Rex’s retirement in 1986, it was at this time Norma and Rex moved to Lake Holiday Hideaway near Kingman. She had made many close friends while living at the lake these past 33 years.

Surviving family include three siblings Barbara (Harold) Karner, Jack (Mary Jane) Meek and Janett Elliott, three sons, Charles (Judith) Anderson, St John IN;  Donald (Kim) Anderson, Grayslake IL, Rex (Maria) Anderson, Hammond IN;  eleven grandchildren Lisa (Jay) Mendoza, Christopher (Amanda) Anderson, Jennifer (Austin) Johnson, Tracy Anderson, Michael Anderson, Kristina Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Zachery Anderson, Melanie Anderson, David Anderson, Venessa (Justin) Aloia, and fifteen great-grandchildren Savanna, Ava and Ty Aloia, Clara, Corbin and Crosby Mendoza, Christine, Benjamin, Noah and Luke Anderson, Charlie and Annie Johnson, Solomon Clark, Camden and Cruz Anderson.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM (EDT) Sunday September 22, 2019 at Dickerson Funeral Home 303 N. Main St Veedersburg IN 47987 with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating.
