Rayna Ann Stevenson

August 17, 1959 — January 18, 2023

Rayna Ann Stevenson, 63,  formerly of Veedersburg, and had recently been a resident of Heritage Healthcare in West Lafayette, IN passed away 5:15 PM Wednesday January 18, 2023 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana.

Rayna was born August 17, 1959 in Danville, IL the daughter of Raymond L. and Shirley Ann (Larsen) Thompson. She married Van Edward Stevenson November 14, 1981 at the Church of the Nazarene in Georgetown, IL; he preceded her in death January 17, 2021.

She is also preceded in death by a brother, Dale E. Thompson; a nephew, Dustin Thompson; and several aunts and uncles.

Surviving family include her parents, Raymond & Shirley Thompson, Georgetown, IL; a daughter, Rachel Ann (Quinn) Miller, Hillsboro; a brother, Brian L. Thompson, Attica; a sister, Janet Kay (George) Sprouls, Cayuga; two grandchildren, Tiffany Ruthann Miller, Eli Edward Miller; a step-grandson Keagin Culley;  several nieces and nephews; and a very close and dear friend, Linda May Hunter.

Rayna graduated from Georgetown High School in 1979. She has lived in the Covington & Veedersburg area since 1985. Earlier in her life she had been employed at Kroger’s in Crawfordsville, Pony Express Delivery Service in Indianapolis, and Open Door Christian Book Store in Danville, IL. Rayna had to retire early after becoming physically disabled with Multiple Sclerosis.  

Rayna was member of the Church of the Nazarene in Covington. She loved going to southern gospel music concerts. She had a special friendship with Pastor Steve Dailey and his wife of Mt. Calvary Evangelistic Center in Indianapolis, IN. She loved telling everyone about Jesus and her faith. She was always positive.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM (EST) Friday January 27, 2023 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Tom Hunter officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM (EST) Friday and continue until the time of service. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
