Sarah Louise Cumbow, 92, of rural Veedersburg, passed away Sunday November 11, 2018 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, Illinois. Louise was born January 3, 1926 near Veedersburg, IN the daughter of Andrew and Flo (Smith) Campbell. She married Calvin C. Cumbow May 24, 1943 in Crawfordsville, IN; he preceded her in death April 23, 2008. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Campbell, Ray Campbell; and a sister Inez Lewsader. Surviving family include two sons, Donald (Frances) Cumbow, Covington, IN; Kenneth (Roseann) Cumbow, Westville, IL; two daughters, Diana Wilkus, Westville IL; Phyllis (George) York, Normal IL; a sister, Ruth Bunnell, Pendleton IN; seventeen grandchildren, Kim (Robert) Ingram, Darla (Mark) Savoie, Terry (Dawn) Wilkus, Sean (Lisa) Wilkus, Henry Wilkus, Jeff (Trish) Wilkus, Sarah (Chris) Showalter, Kenneth (Jade) Wilkus, Todd (Misty) Cumbow, Tom (Melinda) Cumbow, Corey (Meredith) Cumbow, Benjamin York, Jessica Cumbow, Joel (Ashley Itzen) Cumbow, Kristina (Chris) Sigler, Chase York, Robert (Tammy) York; 31 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Louise graduated from Veedersburg High School. She was a member of the Osborn Prairie Church, where she had served as treasurer for many years. She enjoyed living on her family’s farm in the Osborn Prairie area; where she would spend her time gardening, raising both vegetables and flowers, with the Iris being her favorite. She also enjoyed being in her kitchen canning, baking, and cooking for her family. Her greatest enjoyment came from visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren. Visitation will be 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Thursday November 15, 2018 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg IN. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating; burial will follow at Osborn Prairie Cemetery.
