Shane Simko

Shane Michael Simko, 49, of Veedersburg, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

Shane was born on January 12, 1976, the son of Steve and Pat Simko. He graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1994 and went on to earn a degree in criminal justice from Indiana State University. It was there that he met the love of his life, Kori Lovellette. The two were married on June 21, 2003.

Shane was a devoted husband and father, and he took great pride in being a “girl dad.” He loved supporting his daughters in all their activities and never missed a chance to cheer them on. His favorite pastimes included lifting weights, discussing politics, and vacationing with his family in Florida.

Shane attended Sterling Christian Church with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kori Simko, and their two daughters, Rylee and Leah. Also surviving are his parents, Steve and Pat Simko of Ogden, Illinois; his sister, Tiffany Terven of St. Joseph, Illinois; his father- and mother-in-law, Mike and Pam Lovellette of Terre Haute; and sisters-in-laws, Angela (Chris) Meiners of Brownsburg and Tiffany (Jeremiah) Johnson of Farmersburg. Shane is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as his best friend, Andy Shropshire of 42 years.

Shane will be remembered for his generous heart, fierce love for his family, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved.
