Michael Hegg, CFSP
Funeral Director/Embalmer
Michael Hegg is incredibly proud to be a funeral director on our staff, serving families in Fountain County.
Michael's family has a history of service to our community. Father James Hegg was a teacher and guidance counselor at Seeger High School from 1960 to 1973, and was a twice-elected county councilor. Mother Maureen Hegg served as Seeger and Warren Central Elementary school nurse for 30 years and was the elected County Coroner for 8 years. Brother John Hegg served as a member of the School board for 8 years.
A 1984 graduate of Seeger High School, Michael served as a patrol officer with the Indianapolis Police Department for 28 years, and earned the "Police Officer of the Year" award during his career. Retiring in 2015, Michael returned to school and was the valedictorian of the Ivy Tech School of Mortuary, graduating in 2017. Michael interned and worked as a licensed funeral director in Indianapolis for 6 years, earning the Certified Funeral Service Practioner designation.
Michael moved back to West Lebanon in 2024 with his wife Lisa and 2 yellow labrador retrievers. Their son Joseph lives in Carmel, IN and is a software engineer.
Michael will work with our families to create a funeral or memorial service that honor their loved one's life.
